Dialogue with Prince

Philippe-David Stellaire, Medium, connects with the "pure spirit" of people, be they are among us, passed over or in the invisible world. Today it's a special connection he's sharing with us since it's an unexpected dialogue with the singer and composer... Prince!

PHIL: Hi Prince.
PRINCE: Hello my friend! I’m glad for this conversation. The time has come for the dead to rise again on Earth! (Little joke!...)
PHIL: Are you alive then from where your spirit is talking to me right now?
PRINCE: I’m so alive you wouldn’t believe it!
PHIL: You’ll always be a legend, Prince.
PRINCE: Oh, thanks. I think that, in the end, people will not remember me as being as arrogant as that… just as someone who happened to put originality first.
PHIL: If you only knew how your music helped me sometimes! It helped me to “live”…
PRINCE: That’s what I wanted. To inspire people. To help them live, believe, love… that’s exactly it!
PHIL: And you succeeded, for sure. Seeing you in the flesh was such high vibration, such joy. We’re going to miss it you know, we’re going to miss your concerts, Prince.
PRINCE: There’ll be other artists, other prominent artists. I’m not the only one, I don’t want to be the only one – I wanted to be unique but not the only one! It’s important to believe in diversity, in mixing all types and genres. You all have something beautiful and exalted to offer. So do it. Offer it in my memory, it’s the greatest present I could receive.
PHIL: Thank you. It’s incredible to feel you here and now. Unfortunately, I’ve never had the chance to know you, to meet you for real.
PRINCE: I’ve seen you.
PHIL: Yes, I know you saw me. I know, you’ve seen me several times, do you really remember?
PRINCE: Everything seems extremely clear to me now. We’re all connected you know!
PHIL: Yes, I know. Your sudden death was quite a shock. Do you want to talk about it or not…?
PRINCE: Yes, I’d like to talk about it.
PHIL: Okay.
PRINCE: Life isn’t meant to last as such forever I think. It changes. It evolves. Life always moves on. Why shouldn’t I? I’ve always tried to innovate; I’ve always wanted to try new things. And I’ve always avoided repetition. Maybe ‘they’ — up there — felt that I’d accomplished what I had to down here. And that I’d endured physical pain long enough! Maybe it wasn’t necessary for me anymore to live while suffering in my body. Life doesn’t have to be about suffering, does it?
PHIL: No.
PRINCE: Going beyond my limits, that’s also what I did. And it sometimes played tricks on me! Moderation. That’s what my next objective will be: working on moderation. Teaching a sense of moderation, a sense of balance in all things. Those are my wishes for a future life.
PHIL: That’s surprising, coming from you.
PRINCE: I like to surprise!
PHIL: Do you really believe art can heal and transform? That music can save the world?
PRINCE: Yes, without a doubt. It can elevate hearts and awaken us to our highest selves. Which can be decisive at any given moment. When I did the Superbowl, I felt something that I’ve often felt with Purple Rain: that people could be totally united. That there would be no conflict, that there were no differences between human beings and that even if you wanted to find differences, you would end up being wrong. The truth is that there are none. And music, just like other forms of art, can make people feel, even for a short while, that there are totally unified and joined by a supreme cause, that all the rest is illusion.
PHIL: I completely agree with you. And it can be therapeutical too! I remember a time when I was listening to “The Beautiful Ones” for example; I was a teenager and had had my heart broken by a fling, of course. The song liberated me of my emotions!
PRINCE: The Beautiful Ones. That song resonated with actual experience, for me as well. I’ve also had my heart broken! It is strange how alive one can feel at those times… we grow because of these experiences… we should see them as a cause for renewal instead of an ending.
PHIL: Are you happy now?
PRINCE: Yes, totally so. I am the man I’ve always been. Curious of everything. I want to move forward without a glance backward. Forward, always. This wave of emotions I feel, it touches me deeply and I’d like to say to each and everyone of my fans just how precious they were to me. Their reactivity, their availability, their anger too sometimes, their passion for my music, for everything that I did or did not do… just how much all of that was precious. It really helped me live. My music and concerts may have helped you move forward but you should know that you too enabled me to transcend suffering in my life and to hold tight whatever the circumstances. Ours was a love story. A wonderful love story. And it goes on, it doesn’t stop here. Believe it, it doesn’t stop here. And from where I am right now, everything is more beautiful and more sacred than before. I can feel each heart beating… I can feel all our hearts beating as one. And it’s wonderful.
PHIL: Is there something you would like to add?
PRINCE: Yes. Do you still dance bare-chested?
PHIL: Less so since I turned forty.
PRINCE: Go on, don’t stop!
PHIL: Okay then. I’ll do it in your honor. Only the crazy people will understand.
PRINCE: Good! You’ll most certainly have a certain success.
PHIL: Thank you Prince. See you later?
PRINCE: Certainly! Thank you Philip, you are an exceptional human being.
PHIL: Thank you for everything, really. And see you later, My Dear Prince…
PRINCE: I love you all.
